Pimples can ruin our self esteem and we all want to get rid of them as quickly as we could. This is the reason we go on popping them even before they are completely healed. Even though this is not advised and actually frowned upon by skin experts, we do so otherwise because of the embarrassment they give us each time we go out on public. Even though acne is one of the most common skin problems, we still get embarrassed when other people see them not because we are too self-conscious, but because we all know that it is unhealthy.

Popping zits
The common advice about pimples is to wait for them to heal without popping them. But a lot of times, we refuse to take this advice and get rid of it ourselves before the world whole sees it. Popping pimples is not actually that bad if we do it properly. It may actually be beneficial to the acne’s healing process provided we do it right.
How to Properly Pop Pimples
Here are steps on how to pop pimples efficiently. Take note that this technique is only for pimples that are ready to be popped, when they are all the way along the white surface. Doing this process after showering is the best time as the skin is still supple.
- Get a needed and disinfect it using a rubbing alcohol. You can use the basic sharp sewing needle.
- Gently and slowly prick the surface of the pimple.
- Get two tissues and wrap both of your index fingers with them.
- Confidently but gently squeeze the sides of the pimple, using a down-and-in motion. Make sure not to force it. The pimple will pop when it’s ready. If it doesn’t pop, leave it be. Stop the process when you see clear fluid or blood coming out.
Also take note that if you try to pop out a pimple if it’s not yet ready to pop will only create scars and unnecessary irritation. That’s a very important rule: Don’t force to pop the pimple if it’s not ready yet.
Leave painful and deep pimples untouched such as nodules and cysts. It is best to consult a dermatologist so they can pop them out themselves because these types of acnes are very delicate and may cause great damage to the skin if you force to pop them.
If in any way you are still afraid to do the popping on your own even for ready-to-pop pimples, it is better if you go to your dermatologist instead.
After the popping of pimples, make sure to keep it try and press a disinfected cotton or tissue over the lesion for about 20 minutes so that the bacteria will not spread or else the acne will develop in near areas of the skin.
